Paragon's Support of a Deserving Family this Christmas
You may be aware that each year at Christmas the Morning Crew at ZM (98.8FM) do a 'Break and Enter Christmas' surprise for a family who have very little and need a boost over the Christmas period. They effectively break into a house and fill it with Christmas decorations, food, presents and anything else people are prepared to donate to make their lives a little easier.
We very much believe that Christmas is a time to help our own and whilst there is much needed around the world focusing on Christmas and kids and a Kiwi family is really important and appropriate at this time of year!
In conjunction with one of our own partners, BritsNZ, the team at Paragon recently ran a Rugby World Cup 2011 sweepstake. The team at Paragon and BritsNZ would like to use the funds generated to assist a deserving family in New Plymouth to have a Christmas that they would not otherwise have and which most of us take for granted.
We would therefore like to give you the opportunity to nominate a family who could do with such a boost over the Christmas period. They may deserve our help because of an illness in the family, a death in the family, being put out of work - really anything that means the family will not have very much to look forward to - we want to make this Christmas special for a deserving family.
We are therefore calling for nominations of deserving families that you may know of within your community. We will then choose one to assist this Christmas. The family will also be nominated for the ZM Break and Enter Christmas which attracts letters from listeners nationwide. If the family were to be selected by ZM we would simply add our funds/things to their Break and Enter package.
Please use the attached nomination form to nominate a family and return to robyn@paragon.org.nz or post to PO Box 1000, New Plymouth. Nominations close on Friday 9th December at 5 pm and the family will be chosen by the following Wednesday. At this point we will look to liase with you to nut out a letter to ZM and identify how best to sort out the Christmas surprise for the family.
We trust that you consider this is a worthwhile undertaking - certainly we will not only be providing things ourselves, but will be speaking to other local businesses to see if they would like to join us in making this a very special Christmas for a deserving family.
